FAQs

Where do I register once I arrive?

​

Registration for the conference will take place in the Centre for Student Life (CSL). See this map: https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/visit/map

​

You may be asked to show proof of your registration for the conference. We will send you a separate email certifying this. 

​

Registration will open at 9am on Tuesday 9 July and will remain open on all days of the conference.

​

Please always keep your badge, as you may be asked to show it by campus security.

​

What is the code of conduct for the conference?

​

Where can I find information on panels?

​

Information on panels and their location can be found in various places on our website.

​

Panels will take place in several different buildings. Please take note of your building (or Zoom breakout room).

​

​

Where can I find information on plenaries and the reception?

​

Plenary sessions will take place in the large lecture theatre in the Centre for Student Life.

​

​The reception will take place on floors 3 and 4 of the Centre for Student Life.

​

The programme of plenaries can be found in our 'General Timetable'

​

Information for Speakers

​

Please keep to your allocated time to ensure the conference is smooth.

​

If you are using a PowerPoint (or similar) presentation, we recommend that you send it in advance to your panel organiser(s) or that you use a USB.

​

Environmental policies prevent us from printing handouts. If you wish to bring handouts, 25-30 copies would be good.

​

How do I access the Wi-Fi?

​

Eduroam is accessible throughout our campus.

​

If you do not have access to Eduroam, you can use the Celtic Conference Wi-Fi. Password 947960.

​

Where can I get water?

​

There are water fountains throughout our campus. We encourage you to bring a refillable bottle with you for sustainability reasons.

​

Where can I eat?

​

If you have booked a conference lunch, this will be served in the Centre for Student Life.

​

If you have not booked lunches, there are various places to eat on or near our campus which is located in the centre of Cardiff.

​

You can find a list of recommendations, to cater to a variety of budgets, on our 'Where to Eat' page.

 

What if I need assistance?

 

An amazing team of student helpers will be on hand to assist you should you require anything.

​

You can also continue to email us, although we cannot promise a prompt response during the conference.

​

Certificates

​

We will email everyone at the end of the conference to confirm that you have attended.

 

If you need a more personalised certificate, please bring a draft with you (printed if required) and we will authenticate it on the first day of your attendance. Please note that we do not have a stamp of the university. 

​

What if I need a quiet space?

​

We have booked quiet rooms across the campus should you require them. These are:

​

  • CSL 2.27 and 2.28

  • Glamorgan Building -1.72 and -1.78

  • John Percival Building 0.33, 1.19, 4.45 and 5.24. 

 

There are also a number of outdoor spaces around Cardiff. Those closest to campus include Cathays Park and Bute Park.

Publishers stalls will be on the 3rd floor of the Centre for Student Life.

​
